We are happy to announce another upcoming addition to Armored Warfare – Update 0.23 " Caribbean Crisis", bringing the long-awaited addition of Armored Warfare lore to the game in the form of a new PvE mode called Special Operations!

The main features of Update 0.23 “Caribbean Crisis” include:

  • Special Operations
  • New PvP map Grassy Fields
  • Night Battles
  • AI in Low-Tier PvP
  • New Dossier UI
  • Epic Medals

Special Operations

It is 2042 and a new enemy has emerged from the shadows, threatening the very foundations of the world. Embark upon a quest to protect the world against ruthless enemies!

The Special Operations mode consists of series of challenging PvE missions following one after another.

The first Special Operation called “Caribbean Crisis” will consist of three new missions, available in Standard or Hardcore difficulty, suitable for organized platoons of players. The rewards will more than match the challenge with the mode periodically offering improved income over standard PvE as well as difficult to complete achievements that award players with special decals, camouflage patterns and much more. Read more in our dedicated article!

New PvP map Grassy Fields

The meadows and forests of eastern Croatia welcome you, commanders. Its open countryside is ideal for armored vehicle operations and offers numerous flanking opportunities as well as positions from which accurate fire can rain down upon your opponents. But don’t let the beauty and serenity of the environment distract you from your goal, commanders – destroy the enemy at all costs!

Night Battles

We are introducing a new night fighting game mode to both PvP and PvE. Initially, the mode will be used on a single PvP map, Grassy Fields. Use your vehicle’s night vision devices and thermal optics to master the art of warfare in the darkness of moonless nights. Limited visibility will make spotting difficult, improving the importance of reconnaissance and battlefield awareness.

AI in Low-Tier PvP

To improve the low-Tier experience of Armored Warfare and to help new players learn the basics of PvP combat, we are introducing AI opponents to Tier 1 and Tier 2 battles, playing on each team’s side. The AI opponents will behave like actual players, trying to not only kill the enemy, but also to capture bases. Please note that players will still fight against other players at low Tiers since the AI opponents will only form one half of each team under most circumstances. Standard PvP restrictions will apply in these matches.

New Dossier User Interface

We’ve overhauled the Dossier to match the new User Interface visual design of Armored Warfare.

The new Dossier includes:

  • Player and Vehicle statistics (including detailed breakdown)
  • New Achievements window
  • Detailed match history

Epic Medals

Some battles are simply too epic to forget – you kill almost all enemies by yourselves, kill enemies by setting them on fire, or single-handedly turn the tide of battle. That’s where the brand-new Epic Medals come in.

scr3

Epic Medals are awarded for truly notable achievements such as:

  • Achieving 14 kills in a single match
  • Destroying a vehicle heavier than yours by ramming it
  • Spotting no fewer than 9 enemy vehicles
  • Obtaining more Reputation in one battle than 99.9% of all players playing the same Tier and Class

And much more – 20 medals are waiting for you to obtain them.

Each of them will be rewarded by a special Reputation and Credit multiplier for the match, dependent on the difficulty of obtaining the said medal, ranging from relatively small to truly epic (400%). Additionally, all medals are stored in your player profile for you to brag with!

This is not the full scope of “Caribbean Crisis” features – in one of its future updates, we’ll also introduce such features as:

  • Armor Inspector
  • Loot System Overhaul
  • Matchmaking Improvements
  • Ranking Battles

Night Fighting Mode

We are introducing a new night fighting game mode to both PvP and PvE. Initially, the mode will be used on a single PvP map, Grassy Fields. Use your vehicle's night vision devices and thermal optics to master the art of warfare in the darkness of moonless nights. Limited visibility will make spotting difficult, improving the importance of reconnaissance and battlefield awareness.

This mode features the following changes compared to the standard rules:

  • Viewrange of all vehicles reduced to 40%
  • Camouflage factor of all vehicles increased by 30%
  • Firing instantly reduces camouflage to zero

First Victory of the Day Overhaul

We've overhauled the First Victory of the Day bonus. Starting from Update 0.23, the bonus will be awarded for each mode individually – receiving the First Victory of the Day bonus in PvE will allow you to receive it on the same vehicle again in PvP or Global Operations.

Game Economy Changes

Following the changes made in Update 0.22, we are introducing a few more adjustments to the game economy.

For one, we've significantly increased the amount of Reputation players receive for dealing damage and for support. Furthermore:

  • We fixed the formula calculating the rewards for damaging a higher Tier vehicle – this results in more fair rewards, addressing the cases where a player of lower Tier who did more damage than a player of higher Tier receives less rewards
  • The victory multiplier to Reputation income for the Encounter PvP mode was increased from 25% to 50%
  • Falarick ATGM (105mm and 120mm versions) prices were somewhat lowered

Commander Skill Changes

We rebalanced a number of Commander Skills in order to improve their effect and value. Specifically:

  • Skills that reduce the penalties for crew or module losses
  • Skills offering reduced damage from ramming
  • Skills offering faster ammunition swap
  • Conditional skills, triggered upon destroying enemy vehicle's module, upon using a consumable, upon dealing damage at over 300 meters and upon start of a fire

General Changes

  • We've overhauled the garage lighting system to make the models more visually appealing

Vehicles

We are adding a new Tier 8 Premium Chinese Main Battle Tank called Type 96B.

General Changes

We updated the turret traverse rate and the hull traverse rate for most vehicles in the game. This change will make the differences between classes more noticeable.
