This week, we’ll take a look at one of the best Light Tanks in Armored Warfare – the Vickers VFM Mk.5 (or simply VFM5) in Merc colors.
When it was designed, the VFM Light Tank by Vickers was expected to be a success. Produced for export, it was just what customers required – MBT-level firepower (thanks to its 105mm Royal Ordnance L7 gun) on a light, tracked and – most importantly – affordable chassis. What the designers at Vickers didn’t anticipate was the end of the Cold War, which flooded the market with surplus cheap armor, sealing the fate of this otherwise excellent vehicle.

In Armored Warfare, the VFM5 is a Tier 6 Premium Light Tank. While not nearly as well-armored as the Main Battle Tank class vehicles of the same Tier, it’s very fast, agile and its firepower is off the charts. In skilled hands, it’s an extremely deadly machine, but at the same time, it makes for an excellent Premium introduction to the class for new players. Furthermore, the Merc edition has unique black camouflage (increasing, like any other camouflage, the camouflage factor of the vehicle by 5 percent) and a Level 5 crew.
But that’s not all. To make getting to know this vehicle sweeter, we’ve prepared a few bonuses for you.
